Hey there! Welcome to the Dairy Star Ice Cream! Let us tell you a little bit about ourselves ?

We began 37 years ago when our founders turned a Dairy Queen into a family-owned ice cream shop in the Chicagoland area. In recent years we have been featured in several articles, including being named by Buzzfeed as the “#1 Soft Serve place in Illinois.” There’s also an awesome piece by Chicago’s Finest about us—be sure to check it out! So…what makes us so special?

Unlike other ice cream shops, Dairy Star only has three core flavors: vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. After choosing a flavor, the fun part is choosing your topping(s)! Our most popular options are our USA sprinkles, Oreo crumbs, and a hard chocolate dip—but we have a wide range of dips including peanut brittle, cotton candy, and blue raspberry! You can also choose a variety of syrups and candies to top it off ?

In addition to our cones, we have a huge selection of shakes, malts, frozen novelties, slushies & sundaes! Our menu is posted and we’re working on updating it with all our options & pictures!
